Microneedling is a popular, safe, and effective treatment for all skin types.
The procedure creates controlled micro-wounds that stimulate a healing cascade: increased blood flow, release of growth factors, and increased production of collagen. It works to improve age spots, acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, and skin laxity.
Improvement generally becomes noticeable after 1-2 treatments, although four treatments spaced 3-4 weeks apart are recommended for optimal results. Collagen remodeling takes time, so your skin will continue to improve over 6-12 months with proper skincare.
Microneedling can be combined with other services, such as peels, skin tightening, or tox injections, for maximum benefit.
After reviewing the procedure and addressing your concerns, numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area to ensure the procedure is comfortable. Following the treatment, you’ll be pampered with a soothing serum. Depending on your skin type and sensitivity, you may experience redness (think sunburn) that persists from a few hours to a few days. As your skin begins to heal, you may experience minor dryness or itching that can be relieved with a topical steroid cream.
For even greater benefit, adding your own plasma components to the microneedling process may induce additional cell renewal and collagen formation. The process is the same as microneedling, except that a blood sample will be drawn during your numbing time. This sample is placed in a centrifuge and processed. The plasma solution is placed on your skin while microneedling so that it can penetrate the micro-wounds and ultimately increase collagen and elastin formation. Any remaining solution can be injected directly into problem areas for additional rejuvenation.
Distraught over thinning hair or hair loss?
Unfortunately, hair loss can occur for a multitude of reasons, and it’s not always easy to determine why it’s happening to you.
Sometimes it’s normal to lose hair, such as following pregnancy, surgery, profound weight loss, or periods of increased stress. It will take time, but in these situations, your hair will generally regrow on its own.
Other potential causes may include thyroid disorder, vitamin deficiency, scalp infection, or hairstyles that pull on the hair. Genetics may also play a part. Before having any procedure performed, it is essential to consider and treat any causes that will undermine new hair growth.
After ruling out other potentially treatable causes, you may want to consider scalp injections. In this procedure, small doses of your own blood components are injected directly into the thinning hair areas. The concentrated growth factors, platelets, and white blood cells can result in significant clinical results (Arora & Shukla, 2019). Adding microneedling and a hair growth supplement, such as Nutrafol, further improves outcomes.
You may be a little frightened by the term chemical peel. Does it conjure images of a mad laboratory scientist concocting potions to remove your skin?
A chemical peel is actually a specially formulated skin treatment that penetrates the top skin layers to expedite exfoliation while revealing smooth new skin. In addition to exfoliation, chemical peels stimulate elastin and collagen production to improve firmness, tone, and texture. Some peels, called medium depth peels, reach the upper dermis and help improve acne, age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, rosacea, and rough skin. There are also deep peels, which penetrate to an even deeper level to help remove age spots and deeper lines.
BellaLisse offers a variety of superficial to medium depth peels, suitable for any skin type. Most treatments will result in some facial peeling, although the superficial peels may result in only minor irritation. Peeling is more dependable with medium depth peels, starting at 48 hours post-peel and continuing for the next 2-4 days, depending on the type of peel. Results are generally visible in 6-7 days. All peels include a post-care kit to nurture your peel and your fresh new skin.
Our peels can also be performed on troubled body areas, including your neck, décolletage, backs of arms, legs, and back. Maximum benefit is seen with a series of 3 or more peels.
Everyone has those “problem areas” that need a little firming. Perhaps you have lost weight and have some facial laxity, or you are starting to notice some sagging under your chin. And how about your neck?
Exilis Ultra uses ultrasound and radio-frequency energy to tighten and tone superficial trouble areas.
It’s non-invasive, requires no downtime, and can be used on virtually any part of the body, including the face, neck, decolletage, arms, hands, flank, abdomen, and thighs.
Exilis creates a controlled thermal wound, which stimulates collagen formation and skin remodeling. Benefits include a reduction in skin laxity, a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and a reduction in the appearance of photodamage (McDaniel, Weiss, Weiss, Mazur, & Griffen, 2014).
Sessions generally take 20-30 minutes per treatment area and are painless. A warm sensation may be felt as the handpiece glides continuously over the skin. Depending on the treatment area, four to six sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart may be needed for optimal improvement. Since the therapy requires a transformation in the skin through the body’s own healing process, gradual improvement will be seen over 3-6 months. Results may be impacted by pre-existing skin elasticity; good elasticity will generally lead to more dramatic results. Clients with poor elasticity may need more treatments or additional time to achieve results.
As skin laxity naturally continues with aging, a periodic maintenance treatment every 6 months may be needed to maintain results.
